Alcuin font
In 1991 German calligrapher and type designer Gudrun Zapf von Hesse designed the Alcuin font. Gudrun Zapf von Hesse is active from Second World War. An advisor of Charlemagne was the namesake of this typeface. He was a responsible person for the writing to reconstruct of the Carolingian era. Zapf von Hesse makes the idea of the Alcuin font which develops a modern text type based on the forms of the Carolingian Miniscule. The Alcuin font is used for different applications like typical handwritten elements that had to be thrown when retaining the character and flow of handwriting. The Alcuin font is a Linotype product. It is a trademark of Linotype GmbH. It is registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
