Background: Neue Helvetica typeface was designed by Max Miedinger & additional project members at the Haas'sche Schriftgiesserei. It is one of the mostly well-known & popular typefaces in the world. It forms an integral part of many printers and operating systems. The original letters of this font had to be customized for the Linotype system. More than the years it was expanded to comprise many different weights but these were not matched with each other. In the year of 1983 D. Stempel AG redesigned & digitized the 'Neue Helvetica' font for Linotype library. It has 51 different weights. The initial figure of the number describes the stroke width 25 Ultra lights to 95 extra black. The 2nd figure gives information on the width & orientation of this font. Helvetica 53 unmitigated to Helvetica 57 reduced.
Designed 1983 by Max Miedinger.
